FACT is a coalition of individuals and groups dedicated to working together for the benefit of children and families in the areas of Point Douglas and the North End.
To provide resources and support in cooperation with existing and potential service providers in their efforts to strengthen children and families in our community.
Parent-Child Coalitions support existing programs and initiate new activities that reflect the diversity and unique needs of each community. Each Parent-Child Coalition determines the form of activities that occur based on the needs of their community and is guided by four categories:
The EDI measures a child's readiness for kindergarten. FACT uses this information to develop programmes and work with families and organizations in our community. This information is prepared by Healthy Child Manitoba. Further details on this research can be found on their website.
Since 2001, Healthy Child Manitoba has funded 26 Parent-Child Coalitions across the Province. These 23 regional and 3 cultural coalitions support families in their community by bringing together various strengths and resources from different sectors. This Parent-Child Centred approach promotes and supports community-based programs and activities for children and families.
